It is an app that aims to be an all-in-one portal for the various government services provided by the Indian government. With it, they can gain access to healthcare, finance, and other aid being provided in the country.
In a similar way to how Singpass functions in Singapore, UMANG India makes it easy for Indian residents to take advantage of the services being offered by their local government units. Whether it's acquiring legal documents or availing benefits, they can now do so from the app itself.

UMANG India is a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and the National e-Governance Division as a means to lead the way toward mobile governance. It enables citizens to access various services across multiple branches of government with the help of mobile technologies, such as smartphones, tablets, and the like. It aims to consolidate departments into a single and convenient platform for all.
Spanning 15 industries and sectors, the app enables access to over 200 offices and government units throughout the country. Whether it involves traveling, employment, or finance, you can request and process the majority of your documents and requirements here. The registration process is also simple and quick, giving you the choice to use your mobile number or email. Navigating the app is equally intuitive and provides a consolidated directory.
There is a Digilocker feature, where all your requested documents are stored for easier management and security. It is also where you will upload supporting documents for your requests like IDs and such—however, the actual user experience is lacking. Plenty of services are unavailable and can't be accessed, which means the platform needs a lot more work and room to grow.

It makes available of government documents more accessible and convenient for all. It is the services themselves that the app still needs time to work things out.
